HART Loop Resistor : WHY?
A NEW Whitepaper
You just received one of the new technology HART communicators that use your smart phone. You connect the modem to your HART instrument, launch the App and… nothing happens - “Error connecting to device”. What is going on?!

Your loop is missing a vital element of HART - the Loop Resistor. Per the HART specification HCF_SPEC-054, FSK Physical Layer Specification, the resistor is essential to HART communications. It is needed to convert the current based HART signal to a voltage signal.  Read the entire paper HERE.
HART is always going to need a loop resistor as the loop resistor is a HART requirement... some loops MAY work without it, but the trade-off is with reliability.
Need a cost effective, reliable, intrinsically safe and easy to use HART communicator? We've got you covered! Our DevCom app for Android + a Bluetooth modem + an ECOM (a Pepperl+Fuchs GmbH brand) explosion proof tablet = perfect solution for hazardous environments.
Applications for the 2020 ProComSol Instrumentation Scholarship Program are available HERE
Please pass this information along.  Applications are being accepted until June.
Congrats to ProComSol's Instrumentation Scholarship Winner, Annika Olson! Annika is studying engineering at Colorado Christian University. After reading her application, we know Annika has a bright future in the process automation industry. Here's what Annika had to say, "Thank you so much for this opportunity, it is greatly appreciated and hats off to your company for investing in the future of young engineers".
ProComSol will be exhibiting at the Australasian Oil & Gas Conference March 13-15, 2020 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.  We will be showcased with our area distributor, Transtek

We are looking for several beta test sites to try out the new Cloud features for HART Configuration Management in DevCom.  The ideal candidate will have a team of several members with DevComDroid and would like to share their saved configurations between the team members.

Cloud features will allow users to save their configuration files on our secure Cloud site.  This provides a safe backup location for your saved device configurations.  You can then create Groups that will allow its members to share these configurations between their DevCom equipped devices.

The first roll-out will be on Android only with iOS and Windows to follow shortly thereafter.
